Benlea Cottage is our cosy little on-farm cottage. A slice of paradise at an amazing price. Whether you just want some peace and quiet with glass of wine at sunset, to curl up in front of the fireplace after a winter’s day hitting the slopes, or to have some family time in the country – the Benlea Cottage has something for everyone!

Whilst you are our guests you are more than welcome to take a stroll down the farm lanes or come and meet the pet sheep! Just let us know and we’d be happy to arrange a time to introduce you to them 🙂 Please note that as on all farms, there can be hazards so flick us a message before you head off on your walk so we can let you know about anything important!

Please note: Food is not provided and all guests are expected to bring what they need to cook in the self contained kitchen. Benlea Cottage is a 20 minute drive from the nearest town Methven, so please keep in mind to stop and get groceries before you arrive.

Wifi:

It’s become a special part of the Benlea Cottage experience not to have wifi. We want the cottage to be an escape, where we put our screens down to connect and spend time with the people we love most.

Pull the boards games and cards out from the coffee table. Explore the stunning farm lanes. Play cricket on the front lawn. Enjoy a glass of wine on the deck as the sun sets behind the mountains. Curl up with a book in front of a roaring fire. Get immersed in a slice of country paradise 🙂

Farm Tours

If you’re looking for an amazing farm experience during your stay with us, we do have farm tours available. Come round the farm with us in the land cruiser and see the full extent of the amazing property that you’re staying on, the thousands of animals we run and how we look after them. Whilst the tours are a seperate charge, they’re an incredible once in a lifetime opportunity to see a real farm and how it works!

But of course as mentioned above, we want you to feel at home while you’re with us. As our guests you are most welcome to stroll the farm lanes yourselves and come and say hello to the pets with us. For the full experience, please feel free to check out the tours on offer and we’d be happy to make a reservation for you if you’re interested.

  • $145 per night for the first two adults
  • $30 per extra adult, per night (18 years and over)
  • School aged children are free

  • Linen: $30 per group – groups are required to make up their own beds

House Rules

  • No pets – No exceptions.
  • Please leave shoes outside
  • Please report any items that are broken so they may be fixed/replaced
  • Please do NOT visit the work dogs without owner supervision
  • Children must be supervised at all times
  • Cottage gate must be kept closed for safety reasons at all times
  • Let us know if you want to go for a walk so we can warn you about any hazards
  • Please read health and safety notices in the kitchen on arrival
  • Please follow the cleaning expectations below. We expect all guests to leave the Benlea Cottage as they found it.

Cleaning Expectations

We run the Benlea Cottage in a holiday accommodation style. We expect our guests to leave the Benlea Cottage in a clean and tidy condition as they would hope to find it on arrival. In return, you receive a great price.

Minimum cleaning required per group:

  • Vacuuming the cottage
  • Stripping any used beds and placing linen/towels in the laundry
  • Wiping down any used/dirty surfaces
  • Putting the rubbish/recycling in the bins in the garage
  • Closing all windows upon departure
  • Turning all lights/heaters off
  • Cleaning and putting away all used dishes
  • Putting all books, dvds, board games etc away neatly in the places where they were found
  • Locking the back door and leaving the key in it
