Only one hours drive from Christchurch, nestled among the stunning landscape of the Rakaia Gorge, our sheep and cattle farm tours take you on an in-depth experience of our beautiful property. We will give you an insight into our busy farming lifestyle and how we look after our flock of 5,000 sheep and 400 cattle!
And if you decide you want to stay; we have a cosy on-farm cottage you can settle into for the night and enjoy the stunning mountain views a while longer. Tours operate from October to the end of May(weather dependent). Bookings are essential. To make a reservation for either, contact us here.

What you need to bring on your tour:
- Warm jacket/coat

- Shoes you don’t mind getting dirty (we will be getting out in some of the paddocks)

We love nothing more than when our guests see Benlea at its best. If possible, we recommend checking out the weather before you choose your tour date to ensure you don’t miss out on the incredible mountain views!
